Our teams operate under Australian management from executive offices located in the heart of Manila’s financial district of Makati.

The unique Flat Planet virtual talent model delivers a simple, easy-to-understand, turn-key solution that enables Australian businesses to tap offshore talent without taking on unnecessary risk.

Foundation & Purpose

Flat Planet was founded in 2010 in Sydney, Australia by successful entrepreneurs Chris Moriarty and David Barlow.

Having previously founded a series of successful businesses, plus having worked for some large corporations in Australia and offshore in places including the Philippines, Chris and David had an understanding of the great depth of talent available to business offshore – but also realized that many businesses were not using this valuable resource that was sitting at their doorstep.

... if businesses were using offshore, they were not using it properly.

Market Research

We set aside two months and - by meeting with 2-3 businesses a day - asked around 100 businesses about their attitudes to using the offshore global talent market.

What Did We Learn?

There were two main areas of learning:

1) Why Businesses Use Offshore

2) Why Businesses Do Not Use Offshore

Taking all these learnings into account - we have designed and implemented the Flat Planet service.
